Assassins Club by Dixon RiceI picked this book up because I was intrigued by the description and thought I'd give it a try I haven't read many suspensethrillers in recent years partly because I haven't been able to find an author who held my attention in this genre Dixon Rice has brought me back and made me remember the early John Sandford years and books like Rules of Prey His writing flows smoothly even amid the murder and chaos Scenes are seamlessly woven together and the separate stories in the book converge nicely I enjoyed Rice's use of dialogue Being able to hear the characters speaking is important to me and too often dialogue sounds stiff or unnatural Not the case here This book is well writtenThe characters in Assassins Club are well crafted and relatable Tyler Goode one of the serial killers had me on his side I found myself pulling for the guy almost like the Dexter character from the television series Who hasn't wanted to right a wrong and take the law into their own hands Beyond Tyler all the characters are well thought out and executed by the author not the serial killers Rice also does an excellent job in setting each scene I've never been to Montana but felt like I had after reading this book The description and attention to detail made the story come to life I'm a sucker for good description I have no complaints in that category with this workI very much enjoyed this book The story moves at break neck speed and is action packed from start to finish The characters grew as the book progressed and offered several glimpses in to the minds of serial killers Rice kept me guessing until the end I was pleasantly surprised that I had not figured the ending out before I got thereI rate this book at 5 stars There were a few minor editing snafus but they didn't detract from the story one bit I found myself hurrying to get to the next chapter always a good sign If you like John Sandford or Chelsea Cain you won't be disappointed I highly recommend giving Assassins Club a try

Along the beach Startled she blurts out “Jesus You’re naked”He thinks to himself “So that’s who I am” before killing her and taking her white beach robe Jesus walks up the coast killing when it pleases him and gathers a Manson like tribe of weak minded losers In southern Washington he turns east led by the voices in his head Jesus will run into Ty when he reaches Montana but who will survive the encounterContains adult themes and occasional strong language. While not for the faint of heart in regards to the killing sprees and sexual content The Assassins Club was a gripping novel that was difficult to put down once you get started Dixon Rice has a knack for written artistry that makes you feel as if you are a fly on the wall throughout the bookLiking a Serial Killer In real life it would be hard to cheer for a serial killer but in the book as you get to know Tyler Goode you can't help but start to like him Dixon Rice did an excellent job of creating a realistic character in Tyler Goode I somewhat wished though that there was exploration into what events created the Jesus however he was one extraordinarily interesting characterTrue Montana As a former resident of the Kalispell Montana area I appreciated the trueness of Dixon Rice's description of the town landmark places Moose's Saloon and the variety of people you might have the luck or not to meet As a Montanan I was happy to see a matter of fact portrayal of the life and peopleI found the ending a bit anti climatic compared to the previous scene Trying my best not to give a truly fantastic scene away I found the arch nemesis vs The Assassins Club vs some really bad guys got my heart racing a lot than the Assassin meeting Assassin climax of the bookWhile the book ended very tidily I found myself wanting perhaps it was just greed for of Dixon Rice's talented storytelling which thankful seems to be coming soon as the title Montana is Burning is promised in early 2012 And I really look forward to the next installment of the Assassin's Club to find the answers to the uestions posed at the ending

I've had this on my TBR list for 6 years and I wasn't disappointed An unusual storyline with our protagonist Tyler discovering accidentally that he is specially euipped to kill people and get away with it Not just any folks but the rottenest of the rotten Without trying this ordinary college student and part time bartender in Wyoming has become an unwilling vigilante Later he is approached by others who share his concerns and thus the Club is createdHundreds of miles to the south a mysterious man walks out of the ocean with no memory of where or who he is He starts on a journey north pulling in disciples along the wayEntertaining story
