Good story The plot was very engaging and different and I really liked that Catherine was a really good character and I loved her strength and dedication to her family Thomas himself was a good hero Though his own desires initially were selfish but he did not hesitate to help Catherine secure her son's freedom at the cost of his own desires He was charming and roguish caring and protective a perfect man for Catherine The chemistry between them was sensual and sweet instead of the shivering lust I was looking for but it was still wonderfully showcased

His Pirate Seductress Love on the High Seas by Tamara Hughes is a 2015 Entangled Scandalous publication I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review Pirates seemed to fade out of view for a long while what with every single historical romance novel set in the regency period and focused exclusively on manners dukes earls and society rules However I have noticed a small trend emerging where pirates are once prominently featured That’s a good thing Pirates are always interesting to read about since one can count on an adventure to be woven in with the love story But this novel adds the uniue element of having a female pirate as one of the main characters Not that it hasn’t been done before but it’s not all that common So I was doubly excited about this novel A priceless artifact is at the heart of this story The Ruby Cross is in Thomas Glanville’s possession but Catherine Fry aims to make it hers So she captures the man and holds him prisoner ready to do whatever it takes to get her hands on The Ruby Cross A battle of wills ensues but when Thomas realizes why it is so important to Catherine to have the artifact the two wind up joining forces in order to save her family but will still allow Thomas to see his dreams come true However there is than one enemy they must face and one is right there in their midstIn the meantime a grudging respect develops on top of a mutual physical attraction between Catherine and Thomas Will they be able to move past their initial status as enemies Will they be able to rescue Catherine’s family Will Thomas gain his family’s respect and see his dreams come to their fruition This is a fun read full of high seas adventure suspense and intrigue but also one of family and love and learning what really matters in life There is some nice dialogue in this one and the ending is very sweet and satisfying I do hope books like this one will inspire high seas sexy adventures 4 stars

I think that the author was certainly on the right track when she penned this story in general The idea of a female pirate was not only highly clever but I have been loving the stronger heroines that are making their debut in historical romances I think my main for my love of such heroines is for the simple fact that I find much relatable to the modern woman so I will to say that Hughes deserves applause for such creativityThe one thing that this story lacked in my opinion was a lusty romance The romance was present as well as the attraction between the characters and yet it wasn't enough for me to label this book romantic I think the book should have better suited as a historical fiction which was fine with me because the plot was very interesting and this was a book that I found to be highly likable minus the romanceI have always thought that Hughes had a true talent for penning stories Perhaps romance is not the author's strongest writings but I return to her time and time again because she had pen such wonderful stories I love authors that are sharp and bold such as Hughes that are willing to go the distance and give readers something refreshing in an overcrowded industryFor the most part I would recommend this book I would suggest that if you are looking for a great romance than this book isn't it This review was submitted to all respectable parties PRIOR to posting the review to Goodreads
